When she is discovered and called out, she blackmails the brother of her possible suitor to locate additional matches so she will have a larger pool of potential suitors to choose from. It brought up the issue of how women managed to survive in that society with virtually no rights.

Nevertheless, as the Season progresses, these two adversaries start to view one another differently. The majority of the action then takes place in London after the plot initially takes place in Dorset.
Kitty is a great protagonist who is bright and vivacious. It might have been simple to despise her given her clever tactics and desire to find a mercenary marriage, but that was never the case. From the very beginning, Irwin makes it apparent why Kitty is after a wealthy suitor, and throughout the course of the story, Kitty’s loyalty to her sisters never wavers, even if it means putting her own happiness in jeopardy.
