Wrightson is a writer who eventually ran into difficulties for exploiting myths created by Australian aboriginal people. When she first began writing, copying another culture didn’t seem to be a big deal, but by the end of her career, she had mostly been forgotten for doing so. She advocated for reviving indigenous traditions, and her ideas were presumably shaped by the narratives she was familiar with. She was particularly interested in how a European immigrant whose story didn’t quite fit there might live on the Australian continent. They resemble ill-fitting clothing. However, you don’t own or have any rights to the legends that already exist on the property.

She, therefore, spent a lot of her time trying to locate a crossover or a mediator. She was probably just as successful in this small book, A Little Fear, as she was in any of the others, in my opinion, because it makes no claims about the native materials. They continue to remain independent and unassimilated, yet nevertheless need to be dealt with.
