Grace works nonstop to pay for Millie’s board and education at a special school. She is waiting till Millie gets eighteen so that she may move in with her.
As Millie is dancing alone with her arms around a fictitious dancing partner when Grace and Millie first meet Jack, Jack does the unimaginable and joins them in the dance. Cue heart to turn into a puddle of gooey mush. Just what happened to Grace was this. Fast-paced courting and marriage follow, with Jack pledging to support Millie in every way if Grace quits her job and marries him since he is sick of returning home to an empty house and bed.
