Gone Country by Katrina Marie

I require this advancement. I regret having to temporarily relocate to a tiny town to demonstrate that I merit it. And it’s not as simple as I anticipated. My car? reaches a ditch. A steamy shower? a snake interrupted me. Not even mentioning the silence How do individuals sleep when there is no background noise?
The technician who comes to my assistance and offers to repair my car is the one positive aspect of Asheville. Being that I won’t be staying here for long, it’s fantastic that he’s playful, and kind, and assures me he’s not looking for a relationship. Without any restrictions, he can show me everything this town has to offer, including “other activities.” But how am I supposed to stay focused when he treats me like I’m his?

The first volume of Katrina Marie’s Cousins Gone series is titled Gone Country. Stella and Johnny are endearing characters that will make you smile, appreciate good friends and family, and help you unwind. Their close friendship and family ties are fantastic, but also humorous and well-known. This real-world, relevant novel was great.

Stella and Johnny are amazing and really relatable. She has a lot of humour and a strong will. What’s not to appreciate in a lead lady who possesses those traits? Stella is a similar urban youth.

The little town love story in Gone Country by Katrina Marie is adorable and charming.

With the exception of brunch with her two BFFs, who also happen to be her cousins, and the occasional scary movie, Stella is a workaholic with no social life. Stella works so hard in the hopes of getting a promotion. But what requirements must Stella meet in order to be promoted? Stella must go to a small town four hours away for her family and city life, but the owner of the business asks for a meeting with her. This could be her chance to get promoted. Stella is saved by Johnny, a rural kid mechanic who enjoys small-town life after her car becomes stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere.

Workaholic Stella has been granted the chance to travel to Asheville, Texas, to set up the new company distribution facility. When it comes to her employment, I like Stella’s independence, but her codependency on her cousins Audrey and Tiffany outside of work is disheartening. We observe her increasing freedom outside of work as the plot develops. Reading about her trip made me smile because I am a strong believer in one’s freedom.

Then there is Johnny, a tall, attractive man from a tiny town. In addition to assisting Stella with her tragedy upon arrival, he also has his own demons to face regarding romantic relationships. He reminded me of a lot of people in our society who have insecurity issues but want to put that behind them and move on, having been rejected by their high school sweetheart. Despite never being an easy task. I adored the tenderness of this tale as well as Stella and Johnny’s individual and collective development.
