Harvest Moon by Annabel Chase and Tana Grey

Powerful book witch Elizabeth Fairfield has a high reputation to preserve. To her dismay, that legacy has mostly consisted of looking after the family’s magical home, Dark Hollow, and their animal sanctuary. Elizabeth’s journey takes a tragic turn when she finally spreads her wings and visits an old acquaintance in Salem, Massachusetts. Hex Support, the covert arm of the Federal Bureau of Magic, again turns to the Fairfield witches by asking Elizabeth for assistance after a renowned psychic is discovered deceased in mysterious circumstances. Thankfully, the book witch doesn’t have to deal with only gory puzzles. She meets Nathan, a werewolf with the body of a gym rat and the mind of a professor while doing her inquiry. As soon as the evidence starts to point to him, Elizabeth finds herself wanting to look into more than just his books.
Will Elizabeth allow a murderer to go unpunished and face her first taste of failure, or will she rise to the occasion and merit the Fairfield name?

Elizabeth, the second Fairfield witch, is introduced in this novel. The FBM want Elizabeth to investigate the killing of a local psychic for them since she is in Salem for a vacation and to catch up with her college friend. Elizabeth doesn’t really have a lot of experience looking into murders because she is a book witch and has spent the majority of her life in Dark Hollow. However, she is a strong entity with a wealth of research expertise as a Fairfield witch.

She begins investigating the murder with the aid of Nathan, a handsome werewolf researcher. The white raven Edgar steals the show in this entertaining paranormal cosy mystery. We learn a little bit more about Elizabeth and the skills of the Dark Hollow house. Although Kit, the protagonist from book one, makes a few cameos, this novel primarily ignores her.

The book is short and the mystery is simply resolved, but the mystical setting and some of the oddball characters make it even more fun to read. Although there is a tinge of romanticism, it is incredibly airy and pure. This one is for fans of cosy mysteries with paranormal elements and those who liked the previous Fairfield witch story.

This is a fun urban fantasy/paranormal cosy mystery series. An interesting plot and a terrific cast of characters. A significant witch family is the Fairfield witches. They look after other creatures that are typically magical in nature and foreign familiars while residing in a castle called Lakehouse on a sizable estate. For many centuries, their family have resided on this land. The mansion is magical and adapts to meet their demands. The older sister kit once worked as a support agent for the Hicks support division of the Federal Bureau of Magic. A special inquiry was handled by an elite division of investigators.

All three sisters are now starting to show an interest in doing some research on the side, in addition to managing their estate and caring for all of their magical creatures. Through the family portraits in the exhibition, they can communicate with their ancestors. They can go to any magic portal on the planet through a portal in their house. It is a very unique and enjoyable approach to the story. Continue reading to follow the antics and have fun.
