Icebreaker by Hannah Grace

When a competitive figure skater and the captain of a hockey club are made to share a rink, sparks flare. Anastasia Allen has dedicated her whole life to getting a chance with Team USA. She receives a full scholarship to the University of California, Maple Hills and is given a spot on their competitive figure skating team, so it seems as though everything is going as planned.

Nothing, not even hockey team captain Nate Hawkins, will get in her way. As team captain, Nate’s primary concern is keeping his team on the ice. This is challenging given that they are forced to share a rink with the figure skating team—including Anastasia, who obviously despises him—due to a facility error. Nate may have to step up to the plate if Anastasia’s skating partner faces an unclear future. Sparks fly, but Anastasia is unconcerned because, after all, how could she possibly appreciate a hockey player?

Anastasia Allen, a figure skater, schedules every minute of every day and travels with her planner. She was dedicated, competitive, and tenacious, so when a prank forced one of the ice skating rinks to close, she was unhappy to have to split her practice time with the men’s hockey team. Nate Hawkins, a hockey captain, comes on. He’s humorous, charming, and athletic and he’s determined to get Stassie. He also won’t let her have another appointment during her scheduled day.

The spice of Nate and Stassie’s conversation was the “chef’s kiss.” They both gave the main character vitality because of their self-assurance in both themselves and one another, their rivalry, and their continual humour! I adored Stassie’s self-assurance, especially when it came to her desires, and I adored Nate’s protectiveness and support of her.

Not just Nate and Stassie had a sense of humour. I laughed when I saw their pals. We all like having witty and encouraging friends, and I really enjoyed how important a role they still played despite being minor characters. They all had their own relationships with Stassie, and they all gave Nate and her our undivided support.

Nate, the hockey team’s captain, and Stassie, a competitive figure skater, cross paths after a misunderstanding forces both teams to use the same ice rink. Nate offers to assist Stassie with her practice when her skating partner becomes hurt. Things begin to heat up between them after spending so much time together at the rink.

This novel has it all: it’s sweet, hilarious, and hot, and you’ll adore the characters (except for one). You will adore these two together since Stassie is an adorable grump and Nate is attentive and supportive.

I adored Stassie and Nate’s relationship. They genuinely tried their best to talk to one other and solve issues. I enjoy it when the MMC of romance novels aren’t overtly misogynistic, and Nate was undoubtedly a male who was created by a woman. He was exceedingly kind and always attempted to improve himself as a person. Stassie, with her craving for control, was likeable. I like watching her in treatment.

The supporting players were also completed. They were very entertaining, in my opinion. I’m sure there will be more, but I’d want to hear about Henry and Robbie.
