It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey

Because of Piper Bellinger’s reputation as a wild child and her influence in the fashion world, the paparazzi follow her everywhere she goes. When Piper ends up in jail after drinking too much champagne and throwing an unruly rooftop party, her stepfather thinks enough is enough. He then interrupts her and assigns Piper and her sister the duties of managing their late father’s dive bar in Washington while he is gone.

Piper meets large, bearded sea captain Brendan who believes she won’t survive a week outside of Beverly Hills before she has even been in Westport for five minutes. Even if Piper struggles with math and gets hives at the thought of sleeping in a run-down apartment with bunk beds, so what? Just how horrible could it be? She’s determined to prove that she’s more than just a lovely face to her stepfather and the hot, gruff local.

However, it’s a small town, and Brendan is everywhere she goes. Although the stern fisherman and the fun-loving socialite are complete opposites, there is an undeniable affinity between them. Piper doesn’t need any disturbances, especially affection for a man who disappears for extended periods of time. Piper starts to doubt whether the chilly, glitzy life she knew is what she really wants, though, as she makes connections with her past and starts to feel at home in Westport. LA is calling her name, but she might already be in love with Brendan and this town full of memories.

A Hollywood “It Girl” is sent to a small beach town in the Pacific Northwest after being cut off from her wealthy family, where she butts heads with a snobby local who feels out of place.

Piper led a carefree life until the night her lover dumped her. She then threw a huge party, vandalized a hotel, and was arrested. She received a major wake-up call as a result of this and was sent to her biological father’s hometown to learn how to be responsible and determine her career goals. Brendan, the boat’s captain, followed a set pattern both on the water and onshore. He dislikes change, so when Piper enters his life, she practically turns everything upside down for him.

The story of a pampered party girl, her sister, and their unforeseen late-summer plans is told in this charming small-town romance. In order to learn about the life, Piper and Hannah travel to the quiet town of Westport. They both gain knowledge about community, love, and themselves while there. The opposites attract relationships in this hot book features a flurry of foes who turn into lovers. The Captain and the small fishing town made for an interesting premise for this novel. This was a lovely, romantic, and enjoyable romance. Piper is a pampered woman who hangs out with the wealthy and well-known; she lives for attention and visibility. Her affluent lover dumps her, turning her world upside down.

She makes a huge mistake, but what happens next? Even the deeds of this wealthy girl have consequences, which I think is fantastic. In the narrative, her sister is a breath of fresh air. I adore Hannah’s attitude. I adore the punishment meted out, which certainly seems appropriate, but it also marks the beginning of this tale.

Brendan has a lengthy history in this little town and is a captain in Westport. At first, the females don’t like him, but we’ll see how this develops. This romance between former rivals and lovers intensifies, and Brendan’s vintage look is lovely. When he isn’t acting like an ass, he is a great gentleman and is very kind and caring. This story becomes hot, but Piper just wants a short-term relationship, and I believe Brendan is in it for the long run. They do contrast one another. There are many sizzling moments and some sorrowful ones in this novel. However, Piper discovers how to live with herself, other people, and not just possessions. Both his heart and his schedule are open, as Brendan is aware. It does end pleasantly in this novel.
