Maybe Not by Colleen Hoover
Warren readily accepts the offer to share a room with a female roommate. It might be a fun change. Or maybe not.
especially when that roommate is Bridgette, who exudes coldness and appears to be calculating, the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together as tensions rise and tempers flare. Warren, however, has a theory about Bridgette: Warren believes that anyone who can hate with such fervour should also be able to love with such enthusiasm. And he wants to be the one to put this idea to the test.
Will Bridgette have the strength to let Warren into her heart and eventually learn to love?

This brief novella functions as a sort of precursor to Colleen’s longer book, Maybe Someday. The story focuses on the two cameo characters Warren and Bridgette and primarily takes place before Sydney moves into Ridge’s flat.
Ridge had a fantastic friend in Warren, who could be a little cheeky and boisterous. Since he is the sole narrator of this novella, his personality qualities definitely shine through. I had memories of Bridgette as a volatile and irate person, but seeing her through Warren’s eyes allows you to also see the hurt, insecurities, and motivations behind her rage. Even though the story is brief, it spans a couple of weeks, allowing the characters’ relationship to evolve naturally.
This short story is connected to Maybe Someday. We sort of meet Bridgette and Warren as background characters in Maybe Someday, but this book examines and explains their relationship. Although it might be read independently, I suggest reading both because they complement one another—it doesn’t really matter in what sequence, in my opinion.
This story devastated me. Colleen is obviously a crazy empath with the most real sources to draw from. They all do. The connection is imperfect, vulnerable, and human. It is a tale of broken love. It represents uncurled’s hope. It’s time well spent. Study it. However, read the prequel beforehand so that you may appreciate it fully.
The excellent novella Maybe Not by Queen Colleen Hoover is a companion to Maybe Someday, which is likewise beyond incredible and which I absolutely demand everyone read. Warren and Bridgette, who play supporting roles in Maybe Someday, are the focus of Maybe Not. Holy hell, was their journey a hilarious and amazing one?
Maybe Not was also very seductive. The chemistry between Bridgette and Warren was simply amazing. It was exploding, sizzling, crazy, and impossible to contain. I adored their relationship even more because it was clear they had wonderful chemistry both in and out of the bedroom. Given how different Warren and Bridgette are from one another, I think they make an amazing couple.
The sequel to Colleen Hoover’s superbly original NA Contemporary Maybe Someday is the new novella Maybe Not. If you haven’t read Maybe Someday, Colleen does an excellent job of setting out the plot so that you can read Maybe Not without getting too lost. It occurs concurrently with Maybe Someday’s timeline, and many of the same issues that affected every character in the previous novel are also shown here.
To give you an idea of the plot, the first book, titled Maybe Someday, is about an extremely original musician, his roommates, and his potential. His brother, his BFF, and an extremely irate chick are three of his three roommates. In addition to serving as the group’s manager at the moment, Warren is a flagrant freeloader who impedes their efforts to gain momentum. He puts a lot of effort into supporting his teammates and is quite protective of them. One day, he is abruptly informed that a female is moving in and that he has no control over the situation. Warren believes it’s his job to either make her life miserable while she’s there or sleep with her, but he hasn’t made up his mind until he learns he’s met his match. Well, that’s just not going to work for Warren. She is most likely the cruellest girl on the globe, and yet, as you might expect, he enjoys his share of cruel women.
