Not Me by Eileen Myles
The autobiography of an American outlaw, a poet who supports both physical and imaginative acts, is found in the book “Not Me.” Myles is a female explorer—a nomadic poet out to make a name for herself and live the epic anti-heroine life of her poetry.
Not Me is referred to be “An American Poem,” and it has gained popularity. Myles addresses their Boston heritage and admits to being a “Kennedy” in it. Myles is perhaps my favourite poet now writing. Because it flips the autofiction concept on its head, “An American Poem” is a book I adore. It’s the ideal little book. It really establishes a character, introduces them to the outside world, and tells a story. Additionally, it smears many forms of political material throughout.
