Rag and Bone by Joe Clifford
Handyman Jay Porter returns to Ashton, New Hampshire after ten months on the run after being falsely accused of killing a colleague in the estate-clearing business. He looked for evidence on a hard drive that would help catch Adam and Michael Lombardi while he was still on the run. But he was unsuccessful.
Nothing is his. Hopeless without a hard disk. He’s broke and hasn’t spoken to his ex-wife or son in almost a year. With his reputation damaged and job prospects nonexistent, Jay accepts a charity task from his ex-girlfriend Alison Rodgers and finds out there has been a fire at Alison’s former rehab farm.
Jay is certain that the Lombardis caused the fire to intimidate Alison into selling. Jay hopes that by investigating the fire’s roots, he will be able to finally capture his adversaries. But he quickly learns that the definition of evil isn’t always clear-cut and that sometimes, if we want justice, we have to enforce the law on our own.

A MUST read is the five-book series Joe Clifford has written. This is the series for anyone who enjoys supporting the common man. It’s difficult to say anything about the book other than that it’s a fantastic instalment. Joe has announced that this is the final book in the series, and I’m not happy about it. I don’t want to reveal anything else.
The genuine, complicated, and hurting Jay Porter. This series, and especially this last instalment, is filled with truth.
In the past, Jay had to be a decent spouse and father. Today, he must at least be a good father and move on with his life while adjusting to new circumstances.
He needs to establish stability and fortitude since he is obsessed with discovering the truth about the past and maybe digging too deeply now, which will crush many hearts, including his own.
He needs to track down the genuine Jay Porter once more to put things right, which will require some effort and clearing out the trash.
Ray Porter’s complexity are clearly layered out in a flowing motion with engaging characters, along with the falsehoods, coverups, loss, and death he is in conflict with, difficulties he must resolve and put to rest, inner and outside conflicts and tragedies, and narrative with the things that individuals bear.
