Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson

Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have been engaged in a protracted, bloody conflict for a year now after organizing a coalition of human resistance to the enemy invasion. Neither side has gained an edge, and every tactical choice is shadowed by the possibility of a betrayal by Taravangian, Dalinar’s cunning comrade.

The adversary is preparing a risky and audacious operation as new technological advancements made by Navani Kholin’s researchers start to alter the nature of the conflict. The ensuing arms competition will put the Radiant values to the test and possibly expose the hidden meanings of the old tower, which was once the source of their power.

While Kaladin Stormblessed struggles to adjust to his new position within the Knights Radiant, his Windrunners are dealing with a similar issue. No more honorspren are willing to link with humans in order to increase the number of Radiants while more and more dangerous enemy Fused awaken to wage war. Leading the coalition’s emissary to the honorspren stronghold of Lasting Integrity, Adolin and Shallan must either persuade the spren to support their fight against the evil god Odium or risk failing themselves.

Shallan also had a remarkable tale to tell. She has her own problems to contend with, such as the fact that she alternates between Shallan, Radiant, and Veil right now. Given that he accepts her in all of her complexity—split personalities and all—Adolin is possibly the best husband ever. Given how he responds with each of her personas individually, they certainly have a lively and unique marriage. Her struggle to overcome things that are seen as flaws while being pushed in a lot of different directions made her story one of the more compelling ones in the book.

He genuinely cares about his wife, father, friends, and nation. I believe he will be the one who can help bring a deadeye back. I really like how, as he grows into his own man, he is starting to rebel a little against Dalinar. For most of this novel, Navani really takes centre stage. She has always been intelligent, but over the years she has become worn down by duties and a husband who has given her no support. She engaged in both combat and collaboration with the enemy, making her plotline one of the most thrilling in the Tower. Given how complex it is, it will make sense.

She has really grown into herself, and I think she made excellent use of the knowledge she had. As a fighter, Navani put up a valiant effort in this. Dalinar, on the other hand, had his hands full with the battle and his attempts to understand the ins and outs of bond smithing. It is time for him to take a more leadership-focused position and withdraw from the real conflict. His changes are astonishing.

In addition to trying to outsmart the traitorous ruler Taravangian, Dalinar, the Radiant Bondsmith and king of Urithiru, the enigmatic city of Radiants, is struggling to comprehend his abilities, maintain the alliance of nations against the threat of the Fused, the adversary that emerged from the strange race of former slaves now endowed with powers from the dark god Odium. Despite making great strides, Navani, Dalinar’s scholar wife and former sister-in-law, still sees herself as a fraud and a scholar in title only. She works tirelessly to study fabrials, the gems capturing magic spren that allow feats of wonder like flight.
