This breezy romance pairs a muscular hero who acts like an alpha but really has a marshmallow heart with a (mostly) self-assured, curvy heroine. Although these two strangers can’t seem to stop arguing, it’s impossible to ignore the sparks that fly between them. With some more emotive passages and a hint of steam, the tone is light and a little humorous. The narrative centres on Crystal, a fitness influencer and personal trainer who has come to embrace her physique. Crystal is aware that she is her happiest, healthiest self as she is, despite how others may see her size and work choice. It’s disliked at first sight when she meets a vexing stranger at the gym.
Although Crystal has a lot of preconceived notions about Scott’s behaviour and he appears to push all of her buttons, the two just can’t seem to stay apart. Hence, it complicates everything when they realize they have more in common than just going to the gym. But Scott could turn things around, and nobody would ever choose Crystal second again.
Although Crystal is already confident in her greatness, she nevertheless experiences occasional insecurities like everyone else. Because the book is set in a gym, it may have taken a worrisome turn. He possesses the qualities of a cinnamon roll wrapped in an alpha’s body, along with a touch of arrogance to go with the complete package. While Crystal’s constant assumptions occasionally drove me nuts, Scott has turned out to be such a nice guy. They get along well together.
This modern romantic comedy stars a curvaceous, biracial fitness blogger who utilizes her platform to promote body positivity and self-love, as well as a gorgeous firefighter for whom the gym served as a haven. Up until the Squat Rack thief attacks and everything goes to hell, this place was her haven.
