Although Bourne is found in the water and has lost his memory, the information for a Swiss bank account is embedded in his hip. When he visits the Swiss bank, he discovers all these guns and 15 passports with various names on them. He truly needs to discover who he is, thus it’s a trip of self-discovery for him. As he emerges from amnesia, he is confronted with who he was and who he is right now.
1975, fishermen off the coast of Port Noir in the Mediterranean Sea discover what appears to be a dead body floating in the water. After pulling the body from the water, they discover that the man is still alive after being shot. Without any other options, the fisherman transports the man to a Drunken Doctor in Port Noir who might try to save him from the jaws of death. Dr Washburn recognizes right away that his recuperating patient is not an ordinary man. The patient is battling amnesia which is practically complete. There is proof that plastic surgery was performed, and a little microfilm with a bank’s name and account information was inserted in his hip.
