The Intimacy Experiment by Rosie Danan
In this explosive romance from the author of the ground-breaking debut, The Roommate, Naomi and Ethan will push the limits of love. Going against the grain has been the cornerstone of Naomi Grant’s life. She intends to expand her teaching platform to live to lecture after the sex-positive start-up she cofounded becomes an international sensation. Unfortunately, higher education will not hire her despite her extensive list of qualifications.

Recent achievements for Ethan Cohen include being named one of the hottest bachelors in the city by LA Mag and being appointed rabbi of his own synagogue. The executive board of Ethan’s new synagogue, which is short on both resources and members, hired him in the hope that his unconventional upbringing may draw more millennials to the faith.
He has three months to make things right or the synagogue will permanently close its doors.
In order to solve their problems, Naomi and Ethan team together to present a popular seminar series on modern intimacy. However, they soon run into a new issue: their developing attraction to one another. They’ve created the curriculum for love’s newest experiment, but neither of them ever imagined they’d be the ones conducting it.
One of my favourite books of the year is The Intimacy Experiment. From the very first page, Naomi and Ethan seized my heart and wouldn’t let go. Their narrative is captivating, sexually positive, compassionate, sensuous, and utterly compelling. Former porn star Naomi is now the co-CEO of Shameless, a start-up that promotes inclusive sex education. Ethan is a Reform synagogue’s rabbi and a former physics instructor. Both of those were accurately read by you. I couldn’t help but be curious to see what Rosie Danan would achieve with this coupling. She literally knocked me off of my feet.
Naomi is fragile within yet has a hard exterior. She was let down by people who should have protected and supported her after being hurt by someone she trusted at a critical age. She has a heart of gold yet is as prickly as a cactus. I admired her brilliance, and wicked sense of humour, as well as her positive and negative traits. I really admired her dedication to respecting sex workers, comprehensive sex education, and sex positivity. She is not the type of heroine you typically see in romance books, which is a shame because if a character is written as well as Danan does Naomi, I would want to read about her all day, every day.
Regarding Ethan, He is a hero that makes me want to swoon. I sighed and smiled at Ethan’s kindness, patience, and love of learning. He is sincere and good to the core, which makes Naomi feel uneasy. They shouldn’t function on paper, but people are so much more than the bare minimum. Ethan and Naomi make a wonderful couple. I was captivated by their romance since they were both so open and honest with one another. Of course, there is hot sensuality and flirting, but there is also kindness, sweetness, and the letting down of barriers. I was so engrossed in the story of Ethan and Naomi that I found it difficult to put this book down…
