In “The Hidden Lives of Sunflowers,” written by Marta Molnar, a pen name for Dana Marton. The writer makes it clear to readers that this is not her usual genre. This book has been written by Marton for two years. The multiple timeframes used in this book are the past and the present. When compared to Emsley’s life, Johanna’s narrative is incredibly sad; they are insignificant. The amount of study Marton undertook in order for this book to be published will become clear to the reader as they progress through the book. Throughout the first quarter, the reader will have learned how Jo and Emsley would eventually cross paths. This book is captivating, compelling, and motivational. Jo and Emsley recognize that they have to prove themselves in “A Man’s World”, even with centuries between them.
The meaning of devotion and worship is extremely obvious. The more things change in life, the more they stay the same, and the reader will learn. And that it is all a part of the path to be able to carry on with life even when it is difficult. As the book comes to a close, the author expresses through Jo and Emsley how not only these two ladies, but all of us, can and should constantly be an inspiration to one another.
