The Tower of Swallows by Andrzej Sapkowski
The entire globe is at war. The prophesied child Ciri has disappeared. She is being pursued by both allies and enemies, so she has disguised herself as a small bandit and is now living in freedom for the first time in her life. But the net covering her is getting smaller. The Witcher, Geralt, has gathered a team of allies who are determined to save her. She is being sought after by vicious mercenaries from both sides of the conflict. She is well-known due to her crimes. Only one location remains to run. The swallow’s tower is standing by.

Even some of the most well-known fantasy universes lack certain elements that Sapkowski’s fantasy world does, including mature topics, complex and finely developed characters that make it difficult to tell heroes from villains, and moral ambiguity.
The author is bold in his decision to consistently use various narrative techniques, and in Tower of the Swallow, he exhibits particularly inventive writing. The variety is welcome to me. You occasionally have the impression of being in the air. At times, listening to a narrative makes you feel as though you are actually sitting by a fire. Immersion must be the goal, and it works.
All of these elements serve as accoutrements to highlight the main focus of the books: the characters. When it comes to developing original, realistic characters with their own language and worldviews, Sapkowski is a MASTER. The dialogue he writes is genuine to the characters’ personalities and authentic. It’s also obvious that the author has a strong understanding of politics, morals, abstract thought, philosophy, social issues, and more.
Another outstanding chapter in the Witcher series is Tower of Swallows. Everyone, including her former friends and all of the major countries, the Nilfgardians, Vilgefortz, and many other adversaries, are searching for Ciri. Finding Princess Cirilla is a race.
With a group of people who share her desire to live freely, grab what they want, and defend the defenceless, Ciri has been working as a mercenary. Ciri is followed throughout the narrative. While trying to flee the Nilfgardians’ grasp, Geralt and his allies must navigate dangerous regions as they continue their quest to find Ciri. We learn how Yennerfer overcame what appeared to be certain death in the previous novel The Tower of Swallows. Yennerfer is currently using unusual methods to attempt and find Ciri. How fierce Ciri has developed is revealed by what happens in the last chapters!
