What If? by Randall Munroe
Many odd queries are posed to Munroe by xkcd readers. What would happen if you attempted to hit a baseball that was thrown at 90% of the speed of light? How quickly can you drive over a speed bump and be alive? How long would humans survive if there was a robot apocalypse? What if there was only one soul partner for everyone? What would occur if the moon disappeared?
Munroe conducted computer simulations, combed through mountains of declassified military research files, worked out differential equations, and spoke with nuclear reactor operators in his quest for solutions. His comments are masterpieces of wit and humour, and they are accompanied by typical xkcd comics. (They frequently forecast the whole annihilation of humanity, or at the very least, a huge explosion.)

Written by a former NASA scientist, What If. He uses physics, chemistry, algebra, and biology to address absurd questions that the majority of people would never consider asking or even think about. It’s a quirky book with amusing stick figures and hilariously in-depth answers to the questions.
