1778: George Washington’s men depart Valley Forge in pursuit of the British army as it leaves Philadelphia after France declares war on Great Britain. Jamie Fraser returns from what is assumed to be a watery grave at this precise moment to learn that his best friend has wed his wife, his illegitimate son has learned (to his horror) who his real father is, and his cherished nephew, Ian, wishes to wed a Quaker. Claire Randall, Jamie’s wife, and Jenny, his sister, are working hard to put everything back together.
The Frasers can do nothing but express gratitude that their daughter Brianna and her family are secure in 20th-century Scotland. Or not. In actuality, Brianna is looking for her own son, who was taken by a person seeking to discover the mysteries of her family. In an effort to find the missing youngster, her husband, Roger, has travelled into the past without realizing that he is still looking for the same person in the present. Now that Roger is no longer in the way, the kidnapper can concentrate on his real victim: Brianna.

The author Diana Galbadone is wonderful. I just can’t get over how talented, intelligent, and perceptive she is. She was a professor, scientist, nurse, etc. Her vocabulary is unmatched. And to top it all off, she is stunning! It seems as though she is channelling her characters from another world. They intensify and become a part of your beta world. All of the supporting characters, including the animals (Rollo, Clarence, the white Sow, and Adso), in addition to Claire and Jamie, are separate people with personalities. Never will you forget them.
A novel series about World War II nurse Claire Beauchamp Randal Frasier, who was having an affair with her then-husband Frank, was first published in 1945. Frank is not the best or the most devoted husband, in my opinion, as they have been estranged for a number of years as a result of the war. Claire travels back in time using magic while taking a solo sightseeing trip to Scotland’s ancient sine circle. When Claire travels back in time 200 years to 1743 Scotland, she encounters the infamous perfect male specimen and falls madly in love with the man she will spend the rest of her life with.
Jamie also understands Claire is his soul mate. The year is 1778 in this gem of a book series, and a lot has transpired over the past thirty years since book one. This is Claire’s adventure. According to historical records, France declared war on Great Britain. Jamie Fraser and his sister are thought to have died by drowning when the book opens. While saving her life, Claire marries a homosexual buddy. Unknown to Roger, Jem has been abducted by one of Brianna’s malevolent employees while Roger is searching for him in the present.
Ian wants to wed a virgin Quaker woman despite only having sex with prostitutes once before and getting married to an Indian. William Grey learned the truth about his real ancestry, and to say he hasn’t dealt with it is an understatement. Additionally, there are those who also want to hurt our adored favourite character. There are so many fascinating plots, and it is truly brilliant to see how they all work out. There is never a dull time since you never know what will happen next.
